I flew into NYC for an event with Parsons honoring Rihanna, Eileen Fisher and Neiman Marcus Group. It was nice to have a few extra hours to run around and enjoy the city before I had to get ready. I found an amazing Oyster Bar in Midtown to meet up with some old friends.
I updated my shoes, jacket and accessories when I dropped off my luggage at the hotel. Since I was just in the city for one night I didn’t’ want to over pack. So I kept it simple by keeping on my original tank and pant saving me a ton of space and not to mention time.
I love these leggings with the leather trim down them. They gave me just the right amount of edge without looking too over the top. They have an elastic waist band so I had no problem wearing them all day long.
I wish I could have remembered this new coffee house that I passed by and had to stop in for a quick pick me up. 
My jacket was just the right touch for a day like today. It kept me cool and dry sitting in the rain. I love to invest in solid pieces so I am able to wear them again and again for many years to come. Click here to view jacket by Misook. 
10 years ago I would have walked 6 blocks in heels in the rain or snow. Today, let’s just pretend I was running late and needed to jump in a taxi.
