Many times I hear my clients say “I can’t wear that color…” and I completely understand this first hand as I have come across the problem myself; one example is this jacket that I fell in love with, the fit and silhouette is so fresh and chic. However, when I put it on with the matching beige tank washed me out completely.
By coordinating the jacket with items I already owned, I was able to find four ways to make it work in my wardrobe that is functional as well as flattering.
4 inspirations and tips on how you can do the same:
Business: How many ways can you wear it? This is the first question that goes through my head when I dress my customers and most of my customers have a black-based wardrobe. This jacket naturally gravitates toward a beige bottom; I knew I needed to find a way to pair it with black because that is how 80% of my clients will want to wear it. I found the perfect print tank that has both the light coral, black and white colors. That helped tie in not only a black pant but also a go-to black shoe. It was a Win-Win!
Casual: Change your lipstick! That’s right. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the difference. By switching out of my go-to pink and into a color that matched the jacket, there was less contrasting which made my overall look more polished.
Trend: Have fun! Play with other colors you do feel good in. Turquoise or even a tomato color can both add a twist to your typical look. I wish I had this jacket last year when I wore this very trendy Jumpsuit to a friends wedding.
